Wow Lagos Finally Built Nigeria's Biggest Mega Indoor Food Market

Lagos recently commissioned a major new modern facility—the ₦5 billion Lagos Fresh Food Hub at Pen Cinema, Agege, on August 12, 2026—expanding its network of organized agro-produce markets, though traditional giants like Mile 12 remain the country's largest overall bulk food trading centers. Context on Lagos Food Markets

Agege Hub Status: While heralded as a state-of-the-art model for clean, organized indoor-style municipal distribution, public retail access is rolling out weeks after its initial inauguration. [1]

Traditional Giants: Mile 12 International Market along Ikorodu Road remains the massive, high-volume heavyweight champion for raw, open-air bulk perishable distribution in the region. [1, 2, 3]

Lagos State Governor, Mr. @jidesanwoolu, was on a shopping spree yesterday at the newly commissioned Lagos Fresh Food Hub in Pen Cinema, Agege.
